Have you ever found yourself with a to-do list that never ends, one too many ideas that you have no idea where to begin, wondering if you should outsource/delegate, or keep trying to do it all yourself?

These days it seems like so many of us are trying to figure out how to best juggle so many things to do with there just not being enough time.

If you wish that could find ways to really maximize your time, then today’s episode is for you.

Here’s the thing… there really are only so many hours in your day, right?

And often when we’re trying to grow our business, having a growing to-do list simply comes with the territory.

But, you can’t grow from simply doing more —- there just isn’t enough time.

So, today’s let’s about 4 ways that you can really maximize your time so you can actually get it all done.

First –

Keep doing what you’re really good at and what you love. Don’t outsource that.

If there’s a certain part of your business that just makes you so happy to do – then keep doing it. I mean after all, we want to do more of what we love, right?

I find that when I’m working on tasks that I’m good at and really enjoy, I can get them done quickly and time really doesn’t become as much of an issue.

Second –

If there’s a task you hate doing… and it feels like a drag… and you keep putting it off.. or you hate doing it…. Then consider it part of your costs of good sold and outsource it.

So, let me give you an example. In my photography business, I love taking pictures, but I absolutely hate editing.

Just because I’m good at taking pictures doesn’t automatically mean I have to be good at photoshop too!

So, if I think about a client I’m going to take on, I add the cost of editing into my fees.

Let’s say it costs me $250 to have some edit. Well, I make sure I factor that in when trying to decide the price of my products and services.

I find that outsourcing things that I do not like doing absolutely helps me maximize time.

Third –

To maximize time, I stopped doing everything on my to do list.

For years, I had a really really hard time with this.

My to do lists wouldn’t even fit on a single page…. It never ended.

And, I knew I had to find a better away.

So, I actually spent a long time studying time management and productivity because I wanted to figure out what I should be working on what could may be go on hold or not even get done at all.

What I learned was if you’re crystal clear on what you’re after, you can prioritize the stuff that will support that goal – and everything else can wait.

So, let’s say that your goal is to book 3 new clients in the next days. And let’s say that you know you need to just focus on getting new leads in to do that…

Well, then maybe you put off some of the other stuff you were going to do… like designing a new logo and putting up new pictures on your website… can be put on hold.

While all that stuff is good, there are better, higher quality activities that can help you get closer to the result you want.

So, to maximize my time, I spend a good amount of time every week prioritizing and planning – coming back to what I’m focusing on and then scheduling out what I’m actually going to do.

And lastly – the 4th way I maximize time…

I schedule everything. When you try to see how everything fits into your calendar, you can easily see what’s going to get done, and what’s not.

Now plans are never perfect, but I definitely get more done having some type of game plan in place than nothing at all.

So, to recap, here are the 4 ways to help maximize your time:

1. Keep doing what you love
2. Outsource or delegate what you hate
3. Stop doing everything on your to do list and prioritize it out
4. Schedule it so you can see it all fit…

And the other thing about scheduling that I love is it actually helps me to set better time limits or caps on what I’m working on…

Because let’s face it.. if you have 10 hours to get something done, you’ll probably take the whole 10 hours. But, if you know only have 2, you’ll find a way to get it done.

So, that’t it.

And, now I want to hear from you. What’s the biggest challenge you face when it comes trying to figure out what to do and what not to do?

Thanks so much for watching!

See you next time!
