I’m guessing if you’re reading this, there’s a high probability that you already have your website in place…

But, have you ever had that feeling that perhaps your website could be a bit better? I think so many of us that have experienced website “shame” at one point or another.

I’m probably the worst – as I’ve redone my sites multiple times. In fact, I’m thinking of redoing TinaShahDoshi.com as I write this to you. ūüôā Hey – just being honest.

Alot of times when we look at our websites, so many of us think about the colors and the design. And, while these are basic elements of your brand – your website really needs to share your story. And, it also needs to act like your “online salesperson.”

Why? Because for someone who doesn’t know you, you’re website really is that introduction into your world and it should “sell” you.

So, what I’ve done today is put together my top 5 essential elements of a website. This is a really high level list. While I thought about putting together a list of 50+ things your website would need, I thought I would start with what’s the most crucial.

So, today, I want to share with you 5 essential elements of your website:

1. What You Do Needs To Be Clear

If someone finds your site, and knows very little about you, it should be crystal clear as to what you do and what you’re about. For example, if you say you’re a photographer and you photograph seniors, then it should be very clear that you specialize in seniors. People should know what you do within a few seconds of landing on your website.

2. A Call To Action

A call to action tells your visitors what they need to do next. When visitors land on your site, they need to know what it is that you want them to do. Do you want them to contact you for more information? Do you want them to call you? Be sure to have a clear call to action on your site.

3. Testimonials Or Praise Page

Testimonials help build your credibility and make it easier for potential clients to decide to work with you. Honestly, reviews can truly help make or break your business. People love to see feedback from others that’s genuine, so you want to ensure you include a testimonial or a praise page on your site.

4. About Page

Your site should have a thoughtful about page, and it should include the story of how you got to where you are now as well as share why you do what you do.¬†A picture of you on your about page is also great so people can start to feel like they “know” you.

5. Quality Content

Content is king when it comes to SEO. And if really want your site to do well, then it should have thoughtful content that will be helpful and beneficial to your prospective clients. Content and having a blog also gives you a reason for your potential clients and visitors to keep coming back for more.

So, those are the 5 essential elements that you should have on your website. Now, what other questions do you when it comes online marketing, websites, or just getting seen? Let us know in the comments! You never know – your question may just become a featured video.
